Yummy Yam Chiffon

I have discovered another chiffon cake variation. For many of my friends and family members, this was the first time that they had sampled a yam chiffon and they liked it. Thanks to Anita from Jo's Deli for sharing this.

I have been wanting to try this recipe too. How does it taste? Is it denser than the usual chiffon cakes?
Thanks.

hi there,
i am glad that you like this Yam chiffon cake ! i actually forgotten to add this note at the end of the recipe....when you measure the cake flour just fluff the cake flour up with a metal spoon then lightly spoon it into the measurement cup till the flour heap up and overflow.
When the flour is over the top, use the flat side of a knife or spatula to sweep off the excess flour so it is level with the top of the cup.
Remember "do not tap" the measurement cup to level it ! this is also a secret to get a light cakes when the recipe called for measure cake/plain flour into cup

Enjoy the chiffon cake

Rgrds,
Anita

Hi myCoffee
It is just as moist and soft.
The chiffon has the flavour of sweet yam and the yam aroma is wonderful. Do give this a try and you will not regret it.

Hi Anita
Thanks for dropping by and also the tip about measuring the flour :-)
Will definitely remember to do this when I bake the chiffon again.

hi, would like to know is it possible to give the ingredients in g or ml instead of cup as it will be more accurate? thanks

Hi anonymous
You can use a conversion table to do the measurements in gms and mls if you like. As the original recipe given was in cups and I had the measuring cups, I just followed.

You may like to use the website below to help you do the conversion.

Hi anonymous
I used the measuring cups for dry ingredients. I have a set that is white in color. It is not the measuring cup for liquid. I believe they are different.
